A manuscript with instructions written by hand on paper, providing direction regarding equipping ships at the naval shipyards in Portsmouth. Signed by three individuals. On the verso there is a docket title.
Description
Transcription:
By the principal officers and commanders of his majesties navy. It being intended that a package should be made through the boat houses and conveniencyes behind them for stowing such boats as the houses will not hold and now suffer by lyeing in the mudd, if it can conveniently be done, these are to direct [blank] you to stake out the ground and to prepare and send to us description of what it fit to be done and an estimate of the charge thereof. And the mast Pond being observed to be dwarves up and of little use, you are also directed to prepare an estimate of the charge of cleaning, wharfing, gates other conveniences for laying of great masts there and for so doing this shall be your ward dated at Portsmouth the 22nd March 1699
