Abstract
This certificate has been engraved on paper, and has a decorative headpiece including the title of the company. The sidepiece on the left is a monogram of the company perpendicular to the main text, reading "L&BSCC". Parts of this certificate have been filled out by hand, and the signatures of three Directors are visible in the bottom right corner, beside a right brace.
Description
transcription: London and Birmingham Steam Carriage Company. Capital,
Two Hundred Thousand Pounds in 10,000 shares of £20 each. This is to certify that [illegible] is a proprietor of five shares in the capital stock of the London and Birmingham Steam Carraige Company on which the sum of one pound per share has been paid and that as the proprietor of the said shares he hath become entitled to all benefits and emoluments thereon upon the terms and stipulations contained in the Dead of Settlement of the said company. As Witness our bands the 4th day of May one thousand eight hundred and thirty five.
