Description

The first 100 pages are devoted chiefly to the preceding reign of Richard II. Dedication signed: I. Hayvvarde. The imprint is false; printed by Bernard Alsop and Thomas Fawcet, 1629?--STC. Running title reads: The life and raigne of K. Henrie the fourth. For more information on the publication and physical differences between this and other editions, see William A. Discussion of the circumstances of publication, but with largely erroneous conjectures about the printing specifics of the various editions, can be found in The Library: ser. 2, no. 3 (1902), p. 13-23; ser. 4, no. 11 (1930), p. 212-24; and ser. 5, no. 11 (1956), p. 1-10. This edition has a square of fleurons on the title page; A2r, line 22 has "Teucer" with the first "e" inverted. Signatures: A-V? (V4 blank). Our library's copy lacks the final blank leaf.
