First part: "Cosmography. The first book ... of Italy, the Alpine provinces, France, Spain, and Britain," has separate dated title page, with imprint "printed by T.H. for T. Passinger [sic], B. Took, and T. Sawbridge, MDCLXXXII", on leaf E1r.
Second part: "Cosmography, the second book ... of Belgium, Germany, Denmark, Swethland, Russia, Poland, Hungary, Sclavonia, Dacia, and Greece," has separate dated title page, with imprint "printed by John Richardson, in the year MDCLXXXII", on leaf A1r, (i.e. 2R1r) and separate pagination; register is continuous.
Third part: "Cosmography, the third book ... of the lesser and greater Asia," has separate dated title page, with imprint "printed in the year MDCLXXXII", on leaf 3Y3r, and separate pagination; register is continuous.
First section of fourth part: "Cosmography, the fourth book. Part I. ... of Africa:" has separate dated title page, with imprint "printed for Tho. Passinger, Benj. Tooke, Tho. Sawbridge, 1682", on leaf 5E1r, and separate pagination; register is continuous.
Second section of fourth part: "Cosmography, the fourth book. Part II. ... of America," and "An appendix to the former work ... of Terra Austalis Incognita, or the southern continent" each have separate dated title page, with imprint "printed in the year. MDCLXXXII" on leaves 5P1r and 6A2r, respectively. Pagination and register are continuous from the 4th book.
Four folding engraved maps depicting Europe (bound between leave E1 and E2), Asia (bound between 3Y3 and 3Y4), Africa (between 5E1 and 5E2) and America (between 5P1 and 5P2). Map of Europe, Asia and Africa all dated 1666; Map of Africa signed: Will. Trevethen Sculp. Map of America is dated 1663 and signed Rob. Vaughan sculp.
Signatures: pi² A-6E⁴ 6F⁶ (6F6 blank, 2R2 missigned A2).
