Abstract

This insurance policy has been printed on watermarked paper, and has been filled in by hand in several sections. The headpiece is an engraved seal depicting ships travelling in a storm, bearing the phrase "Securus Pellagi". The paper seal of the Habsburg Empress Maria Theresa is in the bottom left corner, and there are several signatures visible throughout the document. On the verso side, there is a docket title.

Part Transcription: "No. [blank]. Chambre Imperiale aet Royale d'Assurance d'Anvers. Au nom de Dieu. Nous soussignés Directeurs de la Chambre d'Assurance d'Anver, reconnoissons & consessons avoir pris aux risques, perils & fortunes de la dite Chambre de Vous [blank] ... Fait au Bureau de la Chambre d'Assùrance à Anvers le [blank]."
