This loan has been engraved on parchment in blank ink. There are two small vignettes depicting different bridges in the top left and right corners of the document, in the center is the company name and space for the loan number, this entire headpiece including the vignettes has been engraved using red ink. Several sections of the document have been left blank and never written in. There is a decorative sidepiece on the left, which has been left uncut. Below the main body of text, there is space for signatures, this is also blank. The date has also been left blank, but the engraving references an act made and passed in the thirty-first year of the reign of his Majesty King George the third, which dates this document to the time during or after 1791.

Transcription: By virtue of an act made and passed in the thirty first year of the reign of his majesty King George the third, to enable the company of proprietors of the tames and severn canal navigation, to borrow a further sum of money to complete the said navigation, we the company or proprietors of the Thames and Severn Canal Navigation, incorporated by and under an act made in the twenty third year of his present majesty's reign in the consideration of the sum of lawful British money to us in the hand paid by Do hereby bargain sell and transfer unto the said or assign all and singular the tolls, rates and duties arising by virtue of the said Act of the twenty third year of the reign of his present majesty; and also the said navigation, undertaking in, and unto the same; To hold unto the said executors, administrators of assigns, until the said sum of together with interest for the same after the rate of per antum per annum, shall be fully paid off.
