Abstract

A certificate for interest payment printed on watermarked paper. Filled in by hand in several sections, there is a signature visible near the bottom, and another in the left margin. There is a note writtten by hand on the verso side.

Description

Transcription:

For [illegible] Specie. 29. 11.2 In council Philadelphia April 19th, 1785. Sir, pay to Captain John Harrison of the navy of the Pennsylvania line, or his order, the film of fourteen pounds fifteen shillings and seventeen pence being on year's interest on his depreciation certificate due the tenth day of April 1782 agreeably to an act of The General Assembly, entitled, "An act to appropriate certain monies arising from the excise, for " the payment of the annual interest due on unalienated certificates therein " mentioned," passed the twenty-first day of March 1783, and out of the fund appropriated by the said act, for the purposes therein mentioned.
