Abstract

This loan obligation certificate has been printed on paper, and some sections have been filled in by hand. There are several notes on the verso side of the certificate, written by hand. There is a thin border framing the main body of text, and there is a signature present at the bottom within the border.

Description

Transcription:

Philadelphia County. Pennsylvania. No. 99 I do hereby certify that Henry Johnson of the township of Hasfield has furnished this state, for the use of the United States, with one Dark Brown Mare which has appraised by two freeholders, on oath at the sum of thirty pounds in specie and for which the state is now justly indebted to him in that sum, with interest. Given under my hand, this 29th day of August A.D. 1780. John Moor.
