Early Portugese Government Loan for 10,000 Reis

This bearer bond for 10,000 rs has been engraved on paper, and filled in by hand in several sections. It has a decorative headpiece with detailed illustrations, and an embossed seal at the top in the center that has faded. The document has a small border, and a decorative sidepiece on the left side that has been cut in a waved pattern for security reasons. There is a stamp in red ink in the center. On the verso side, there are eight dividend stamps dated 1800 to 1807.

Part Transcription: "Lisboa. No. [blank] 1799. R 10$000 rs. No real erario se hade pagar ao Portador desta apolice de hoje a hum Anno Dez mil Reis com o seu competente juro Lisboa. [blank] de [blank] de mil sete centos noventa e [blank]. [blank]."
